Country Style Pork Ribs are not something that I normally cook... or eat for that matter. I've always found ribs to be too fatty for my taste but I was at that point where it was this or chicken again, You know that place, where you need to go to the store but just not today. Anyways, I decided against bbq for these bad boys and try something just a little different. I did a seasoning rub and then put them in the crockpot just until they started coming off the bone. Then to a nice hot grill for a quick sear. They were really good off the grill but what put them over the top was the honey butter glaze I trickled over them. These were awesome! Definitely going to try more recipes with these ribs again. |
Rub is for 3 lbs of ribs, cut to fit the crockpot 1/8 c dark coco powder, unsweetened 1/8 c chili powder 1 tbsp cayenne powder 1/8 c onion powder 1/8 c garlic powder 1 tbsp rubbed sage 1 tbsp dried rosemary 1 tbsp dried thyme | Mix rub together set aside. Cut ribs to fit crockpot and rub all over with seasoning mix. Place meat in crockpot, I tried to get everything in one layer but if you don't that's ok. Cook on high for 2hrs or low for 4hrs. When done, the ribs should be fully cooked, take over of crockpot and allow to cool. Place on screaming hot grill for about 30-45 seconds per side (just long enough to get grill marks.) Remove from grill, mix together a heaping tablespoon of butter & honey and pop in the microwave long enough to melt butter (30-45 secs.) Trickle glaze over ribs and yum! I meant enjoy, yeah, enjoy! |
